Norpro Stainless Steel 12-Inch Skewers, Set of 6

  • Measures: 12" x .25" / 30.5cm x .6cm / Set of 6
  • These flat, wide skewers look, cook and work better than the rest. Smooth metal surface makes it easy to slide food on and off. Flat surface helps the food not rotate on the skewer and turn all together for even thorough cooking on all sides.
  • Rounded top is easy to grip and great for hanging skewers up to store.
  • Chunks of beef or pork, fish, even vegetables, like tomatoes and mushrooms won't slip or spin.
  • Stainless steel construction.
  • Made in Italy

I bought three of these sets to use for a family camping trip, and they worked great. We’ve also used them in our oven (under broiler), and on our gas barbecue. They’re square (rather than round), so food doesn’t easily slip off. The ends are sharp enough to easily skewer raw veggies, meat, etc. They handle high temperatures really well, but they get really hot to the touch, so watch your fingers. They’re very sturdy so it would be nearly impossible to bend or break them. They clean up easily and we haven’t had any problems with rust.

Made in Italy. Great for those 16/20 count shrimp. Have larger skewers that would tear the smaller delicate foods I grill. My old set of smaller skewers made in Italy had a rounded shaft. This is flat and mitigates against the food twirling like a whirligig. Stainless. Cleans well. Sturdy. Cook's Illustrated was right on in their recommendation. Contacted the seller to get confirmation on Made In Italy before purchase.

I bought these skewers because they were suggested by Cook's Illustrated Magazine. The 12" size works well for fitting them into the grill, and I believe you could leave the circular end out of the grill for easy grabbing. The best thing about them is the squared-off design, that makes flipping the skewers really easy, because items on them won't just roll around when you turn it. Cooking will be more even. I'd like to purchase the 14" set as well.

These are just the right size, and the fact that they are flat and not round means food doesn't slide off as much. They have nice sharp tips without being dangerous, and the handles work well, too. I've washed them in the dishwasher and they haven't rusted or anything, either.

I bought two sets of the 14-inch version of these skewers, and I'm extremely happy with them. The extra two inches of length on the 14-inch version allows you to skewer more food, and also makes handling the skewers easier, as you can leave some clearance at the top and place the skewers on the grill with the handles hanging off the edge so that they stay cooler. The sharp front point of the skewer makes it easy to skewer shrimp, meat or vegetables. The flat design of the skewers ensures that your food won't spin around when you turn the skewers over, and, the width of the steel is perfect -- wide enough prevent the food from spinning, but narrow enough to make skewering hard vegetables such as onions, relatively easy. The skewers are made in Italy, amazingly, as everything seems to be made in China, these days.

These are a really nice product. They are long enough to keep an open space on each end so things don't get bunched up and squished. The skewer is also flat so they keep things from spinning. Both of those are really simple things that don't seem important until things start spinning when you try to flip them over on the grill or you smash the tomato trying to get the last mushroom on the end. It just makes the end product much more evenly cooked without the spinning piece that gets scorched.

Used them the first time this weekend to grill shrimp, they worked very well! Easy on and easy off with the food, not sure what else to say about skewers! I bought this particular brand based on recommendations from America's Test Kitchen, they don't usually steer me wrong!

I bought these years ago for myself then as presents. These and the 14" size are great. If you have kids and need to cook a large number of hotdogs just get 2 each 12" or 14" skewers and pierce the hotdog with the 2 skewers close to the ends of the hotdog. Slide the hotdog down the skewers and keep adding until the skewers are full. This is a fast way to handle and cook a large number of hotdogs for a kid's party.

I use these on my Hamilton Electric Grill indoor and I purchased these for small bits of steak/chicken and peppers/onions. They work beautifully. I'd of attached a picture but grilled meat doesn't last long enough for me to take a snap shot.

Bought a few sets for a 4th of July party. They are very sturdy and have a nice point on the end for skewering. Plus, because they are flat, they help to keep the food from spinning around when you're trying to turn it over. I think these will last a long time.
